I have the same question Joe's answer Replied on September 22, Are you referring to the Pivot table Builder, if yes then double click on any cell on the pivot table and it should be you the PivotTable Analyze ribbon. Thanks for marking this as the answer.

Or can you bring it up some other way? No, it is odd that you cannot bring it up. However, I manually create pivot tables versus using the wizard.

So, how do you add data from a different tab in the worksheet? Every mobth? If you click on the pivot table, go to pivot table options and then select change data range.

You would need to create a new dataset and reference that different tab in the new data range and then extend your pivot table to that range. So see my example in the sheet to the right. Do you see how my solution would work? I can't see any formulas in the example. Please see D2:D6. Okay, great. Once you do this, you just extend your pivot table range to include the new column of data and then add it to the pivot table in the field options.

When I copy and pasted the data into an entirely new worksheet it worked fine. The original spreadsheet was downloaded from the internet and it seems that excel throws up this error if you try to run the pivot table while the spreadsheet is stored in a temporary folder. I tried this at Office desktop as well as Laptop. Yep, I exported to a spreadsheet from a web-based report and got the error.

As soon as I saved the file in another, non-temp location, it worked.
